Our House Print

Housewarming gifts

Give their new address a place on the wall, or turn it into a mug. A photograph of the home is the starting point; the format makes it fit the person and the occasion.

Choose around their tastes and your budget

Start with the space they are making their own and a budget that works for you. A framed house picture can mark the new address in a hallway; a house mug brings it to the kitchen; a handwritten note alongside can carry the welcome. Practical homeware, food and plants are other choices when you know their preferences.

A house picture celebrates the place itself: a first flat, a rented home or a house they have made their own. Use a favourite photograph to keep its familiar details, or explore an illustrated treatment for a different look.

A house print can be the photograph as it is, or an AI-made illustration of it. If you're planning the party rather than the present, the party guides are linked at the bottom.

What to carry to the party

The constraint nobody mentions is that you've got to arrive holding it, hand it over in a hallway full of people, and not have it be the thing everyone has to admire for ten minutes. That rules the big pieces out and makes the small ones better than they look on a list.

  • Mug. Opens well in a room, gets used the next morning, and needs no wall.
  • Unframed print. Rolls, travels, and leaves the frame to them.
  • Framed print. A proper present rather than a token, so it suits a close friend or family rather than a general invitation.
  • Canvas and metal, if you want the piece to be the event.

Free UK delivery is included in every one of those.

Use an original photo or try an AI illustration

Loose photographs of house fronts spread across a kitchen table.
Pick the clearest photograph first; the route comes after.

If you want to keep the photo as it is, upload it for a photo print or another available item. If you would prefer an illustrated version, choose an AI style and upload your photo. For either route, confirm that the image is your own creation or photograph and that you have the rights to use it.

For the AI route, verify your email to receive up to three free watermarked image previews per client per day. These appear as separate images; select the one you want, then choose an available physical product or a digital download. Check the building details carefully because an AI illustration can change them. Review the selected image and any crop before approving it.

A clear daylight photo with the frontage visible gives you a useful starting point. For a surprise, use a photograph you have the right to upload and consider whether the recipient would be comfortable with their home being pictured. If their taste is uncertain, asking them may be more helpful than keeping the gift secret.

Plan the gift around the occasion

Agree who organises a shared gift before anyone pays.

If they are still unpacking, choosing the photograph and style together can be part of a later housewarming visit. For a shared gift, agree contributions and nominate one organiser to confirm the picture, dimensions and finish.

If you need the gift for a particular date, check the current production and delivery information before ordering. Avoid promising an arrival date from a general guide.

Create their house artwork or print the original photograph, then choose the available format that fits your gift.

A few practical answers

What makes a good housewarming gift?
A picture of their home celebrates the new address in a form they can use or display. Choose a paper print, a framed finish, a canvas or a mug around their space and your budget. Practical homeware, food and plants can also suit the household.
How is the illustration made?
Upload your own photo, confirm your rights to use it and choose an AI style. After email verification, you can receive up to three free watermarked image previews per client per day. Select a preview, check the details and review the crop for your chosen product before approving it.
Can this be arranged without involving them?
It can be a surprise if you have a suitable photo you own and have the rights to use. Consider their taste, privacy and available space first. Asking them is useful if you are unsure.
Which format suits a house that has just been moved into?
An unframed print lets them choose a frame to match the room. A framed print gives the picture a finished surround, while a mug brings the house image to the new kitchen. A canvas hangs as it is, with no frame or glass.
What frames are there?
Check the framed house print product page for the current frame finishes, sizes and specifications. Measure the available space and ask about their preferences if you are unsure.
How soon can it be here?
Check the current product and checkout information for production, delivery estimates and charges before ordering for a particular date.
What is a housewarming gift?
A present for people who have moved into a new home, brought to their housewarming or sent around the time they settle in. The word is old: the Online Etymology Dictionary dates housewarming to the 1570s. Nobody has published a rule for what the gift should be, so choose around the household, whether that's a plant, a mug or a picture of the home.
What should I bring to a housewarming?
Something small that's easy to hand over in a hallway. A mug or an unframed print travels well, a framed print is a bigger gesture for a close friend or relative, and a canvas or metal print makes the gift the event. If the invitation says no gifts, a card is plenty. Housewarming etiquette covers what hosts and guests owe each other.
