Short answers, and honest ones. Two of these pages exist mainly to tell you that something everybody repeats has no source behind it. Nobody publishes a British average for housewarming gift spending, and no UK authority we could find tells you to change the locks when you move in, so those pages say so rather than filling the gap. The rest quote GOV.UK, Citizens Advice, RICS and the fire service where a rule genuinely exists.

Why a gift shop answers moving questions
Because we'd rather be useful before we're useful to ourselves. Nothing above asks you to buy anything, and several of the pages recommend things we do not sell. When the boxes are gone and there's a bare wall left, the gift and on the wall are the two stages that do sell something: an illustration of the actual house, made from one photograph of it.
